As of the 2007 California Department of Finance estimate, the city population was 177,158.

EDUCATION:
Santa Clarita Valley schools are ranked among the top 10% in California. Many of these schools are California Distinguished or National Blue Ribbon, the highest honor an American school can receive. There are many schools for people of all ages in Santa Clarita, from elementary school right up to college. A couple of the major schools in Santa Clarita and its surrounding areas include College of the Canyons located on Rockwell Canyon Road, California Institute of the Arts, Bowman High, Rio Norte Junior High, La Mesa Junior High, or a couple private elementary/middle schools might be Our Lady of Perpetual Help SCH on Lyons Avenue or santa Clarita Academy on Bouquet Canyon Road.
RECREATION:
Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park is one of the most notable attrations in the Santa Clarita area. Other adventures would also include the Santa Clarita Valley movie history. Famous names like John Wayne and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been filmed here with many of these locales on public areas. Some summer activities could include outdoor summer concerts, golfing, swimming, or heading to the valley's reservoir, Castaic Lake for some swimming, boating, jet skiing or fishing. Off the water there is biking, hiking or just hanging out at the playground and have a nice picnic. Within an hour of Santa Clarity Valley lies Universal Studios, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, beaches, mountains, winter ski resorts, wineries, and Valencia orange groves. Santa Clarita is also home to an ice skating rink. |
